RAISEBOX IS WHERE ENGINEERS ARE BUILT

A STEM deeptech education studio in Lisbon. Training ground for students (12+), researchers, and startups. From FIRST FTC competition to physical AI systems. Engineering, engineered.

THE RAISEBOX STORY

We didn’t start with a pitch deck or venture funding. We started with a problem.

In Lisbon, talented young engineers had access to excellent traditional science education. But something was missing: a place where hands-on robotics, AI, and space engineering weren’t side projects. Where they were the main event. Where you could train like an athlete in a sport—except the sport was innovation.

We saw students building incredible robots for FIRST FTC competition, but lacking dedicated workspace, expert mentorship, and industrial-grade infrastructure. We saw researchers with ideas and no lab. We saw startups with vision and no space to build.

So we built RAISEBOX—not as a tutoring center, not as a tech camp, but as a working studio. A place where the discipline of competition drives excellence. Where real projects—not simulations—teach you what matters.

VISION & MISSION

Our Vision: Empower innovators to engineer the future through robotics, AI, and space technologies—from competition to production.

Our Mission: Provide world-class infrastructure, mentorship, and community for students (12+), researchers, and teams building physical intelligence systems. We train minds through hands-on engineering, with access to industrial-grade tools, expert coaching, and a thriving European ecosystem.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Industrial-Grade Infrastructure, Not a Classroom

We’re a working studio with competition-ready equipment and active projects, not a school extension. Our members share workspace with real engineering work.

FIRST FTC as Core Identity

We field an active FIRST FTC team. Competition robotics isn’t one program among many—it’s foundational. Our track record and expertise come from actually competing.

Mentorship from Working Engineers

Our coaches aren’t educators in the traditional sense. They’re roboticists, AI researchers, and engineers who build systems outside these walls.

Two Pathways, One Studio

Students compete in FIRST FTC. Researchers build physical AI systems. Startups prototype products. We serve all three without diluting any.

European Ecosystem Embedded

We’re building for Europe—connected to ESA initiatives, Astro Pi, EUCYS, and the pan-European robotics community. We’re independent; we collaborate openly.

OUR VALUES

Rigor — We sweat the details. In engineering and in mentorship. Half-finished ideas don’t survive here.

Accessibility — Serious doesn’t mean exclusive. We work to ensure membership is achievable for committed students, regardless of background.

Community Over Competition — Teams compete at FIRST FTC. Members collaborate. We celebrate wins together and learn from failures together.

Real Work — We don’t simulate. Code runs on real robots. Projects serve real users. You build for production, not just simulation.

THE LAB

Our workspace at Taguspark, Oeiras spans dedicated zones for:

  • Build & Prototyping: Full machine shop capabilities, 3D printers, CNC equipment, hand tools, and component storage.
  • Electrical & Control: Soldering stations, power supplies, microcontroller dev kits, and testing equipment.
  • AI & Software: High-performance workstations, GPUs, simulation environments, and version control infrastructure.
  • Competition Arena: Regulation-size fields for FIRST FTC and testing scenarios.
  • Meeting & Collaboration: Workspace for team meetings, mentorship sessions, and guest lectures.

EUROPEAN CONTEXT

RAISEBOX exists within a thriving European robotics ecosystem. We’re committed to FIRST FTC & FIRST Programs, ESA Educational Pathways, European University Partnerships, and EUCYS Network engagement.

Aligned with the broader European student robotics ecosystem, we operate as an independent studio, collaborating openly across borders.
